GREAT LAKES RECYCLING

      ELECTRONICS DIVISION

Great Lakes Recycling is a family owned business that began in 1927. We take great pride in recycling the right way, responsibly.

Why is recycling important?

Electronic scrap (e-scrap) is the fastest growing waste stream in the world, primarily due to the rapid change in technology. This is causing a problem because of the toxic components they contain such as lead, mercury, cadmium, and other elements. All too often, industry and consumers are disposing of e-scrap without any clear direction on how to prevent environmental contamination.  Examples of e-scrap include computers, laptops, monitors, printers, keyboards, mice, VCRs, phones, circuit boards, and other types of equipment.  Electronics also contain valuable materials like copper, aluminum, titanium, gold, and silver. Many of the materials used in making these electronic devices can be recovered, reused, and recycled.

Therefore, we highly recommend recycling with GLR who is RIOS and R2/V3 certified, ITAR compliant, registered with the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) and committed to safe processes that do not compromise the health and safety of our workers or the environment. Together, we will make a difference by recycling.
