Our Mission

At Great Lakes Recycling (GLR), we are dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability through responsible recycling practices. With over 90 years of family-owned commitment, we prioritize honesty, integrity, and excellence in our service. Here at GLR, we process materials back to their commodity level and reintegrate them into the marketplace, conserving natural resources and ensuring a cleaner, safer planet for future generations to come.

Why is recycling electronic waste so important?

Electronic scrap (e-scrap) is the fastest-growing waste stream globally, driven by rapid technological advancements. This trend poses significant environmental challenges due to the toxic components found in e-scrap, such as lead, mercury, cadmium, and other harmful elements. Unfortunately, both industries and consumers often lack clear guidance on how to dispose of e-scrap responsibly, increasing the risk of environmental contamination. However, when recycled properly, the materials used in electronic devices can be recovered and reintegrated into the economy, helping to mitigate these risks and promote sustainability.
